South West Grid for Learning, the not for profit, charitable trust company, funded by 15 Local Authorities across the South West of England, was a winner at the
BCS and Computing UK IT Industry awards which recognise the innovation and professionalism of those working in IT.
Under the category, Community Project of the Year, South West Grid for Learning took home the award for its
360 degree safe tool for schools.

The South West Grid for Learning was placed runner up in the 2011 International SIF Excellence Awards: Outstanding Large SIF Implementation Category. Merlin was the first large scale SIF project in the UK. Launched in October 2008 Merlin is the foundation for schools Learning Platforms across the South West of England. As a web-based system, it is available to everyone – wherever and whenever they have internet access, not just within the school. Read more

E-Safety in schools (www.360safe.org.uk). The BETT Awards recognise outstanding educational products and learning solutions, and with a huge number of entries, are seen as the most prestigious in the sector; read more.
Becta's Internet Service Providers Accreditation programme, asserts that a service provider's customers have access to an internet connection which consistently meets government standards on content filtering and service performance. We are proud to have been a Becta accredited Internet Service Provider, and are currently working towards being one of the first Internet Service Providers to achieve Becta's new, more exacting standard.
