Calling all Budding Designers

The Royal Mint are offering 27 lucky people the chance to have their design for a London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic 50p coin minted, as well as earning the chance to win £1,000 and a trip to the Royal Mint to see your coin put into production.

There are 27 categories under which you can enter (one for each Olympic and Paralympic event) and you can enter in as many categories as you wish.

If you're interested in entering, you'll need to register online at www.royalmintcompetition.co.uk before 22nd April.

For more information on the competition, and to download the design template, visit www.royalmintcompetition.co.uk.

We'd love to see at least one of the winning entries coming from a South West school, so get sketching!

Please note: The competition is only open to over 13s.
