Are your pupils using the internet safely and creatively? Learn new skills, make an infographic, and you could win up to £5,200!
Welcome to Make IT Happy, the annual UK-wide technology competition for primary schools.
This year’s theme is
Make IT Happy, Make IT Safe. We’ve created downloadable lesson plans and other resources for children aged 9 – 11, which will give them the tools to be confident, safe internet users.
Once they’ve worked through the lessons, there’s a great activity for students to create a
Make IT Happy, Make IT Safe competition entry – an infographic (poster) that tells other people what they’ve learned.
There are some great prizes on offer:
- £1,200 for each regional winner.
- An extra £1,500, £2,500 and £4,000 will be awarded to the overall 3rd, 2nd and 1st prize winners.
- All 12 winning schools will be invited to a special awards day in London which will include an invitation to afternoon tea and a VIP awards ceremony at the Houses of Parliament.
The competition is organised by the Parliamentary ICT Forum (
PICTFOR) and
e-skills UK – the Sector Skills Council for Business and Information Technology, with the support of the
Nominet Trust, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (
IET) and employers including
Microsoft, BT and
Logica.
