Key Stage 1 Awards 2009.

Below are the Key Stage 1 winners from the different local authorities that took part in the competition.

The Princess and the Monkey - Bathford Primary School

After practising on a test animation, pairs of children took it in turns to animate sections of the story with lego figures. The story was based on work the children had done in their Storymaking Project work. The film was then finished off in Movie Maker to add titles and appropriately dramatic music.

Squirt finds a friend - Otterham CP School, Camelford

Class 3 (Reception, year 1 &2) made this film. They visited Newquay Aquarium to draw and get inspired and then wrote the script for Squirt finds a Friend.

This animation was created by Year 1/2 children using 2Create a Story and was a retelling of part of their Summer Production - a musical called Splash, which is loosely based on Noah's Ark.

A 'clay stop motion' animation of the Parable of the Sower by Pimperne School's Animation Club. (The club started in May 2009 with zero knowledge or experience.)

Locking Primary show what you can do with a soft toy and a box, as they use Ted to tell the story of his magic wardrobe.

All About Dinosaurs - The Grove Primary School

Created using a digiblue camera as part of ICT lessons. The class researched the "fascinating facts" to use in the film. With filming completed the class also worked hard and had great fun editing clips, adding captions and making the background music.

The Castle - The Grove Primary School

This stop-frame animation was made using a digiblue camera as part of the class ICT work. Children learned how to edit clips, add captions and drop clips into Windows Movie Maker. The children even wrote the music!
