Flashmeeting is a simple VC tool, provided by SWGfL in partnership with the Open University, that allows up to 20 individuals or small groups to come together using only a simple web cam. Flashmeeting is very easy to use. Once registered you can book a meeting using a simple web form. The system automatically returns your booking confirmation and the 'ticket' (in the form of a URL) you need to pass on to the people you want to join the meeting.
Once in a meeting, you simply click the large 'broadcast' button to begin broadcasting both your image and sound to everyone else in the meeting - when you've finished click the button again to stop. As in a real meeting only one person speaks at a time - eliminating any overlaps or confusion.
Flashmeeting is ideal for pupils practising their language or communications skills and for joint project work in many curriculum areas bringing new opportunities for learning into the classroom.
