Is your school or organisation making a huge difference with technology? Is ICT transforming the way that learners learn, parents communicate and staff work? If so, then Becta wants to hear from you...
Now entering their fifth year, Becta’s ICT Excellence Awards provide a great opportunity to not only celebrate the amazing work of schools, local authorities and other supporting organisations but to share the experiences of those at the forefront of the use of technology in learning.
The awards are positioned as the fourth and final stage of Becta’s Next Generation Learning Charter.
Awards categories
All categories are closely aligned with elements of Becta’s Self-review framework and the ICT Mark for schools. The categories are:
Best whole school: for those schools who are using ICT innovatively to transform practice across all their activities. To be awarded regionally, with an overall national winner.
Learning experience: incorporating learning, teaching, curriculum and assessment.
Beyond the school: including how the schools extend learning opportunities beyond the “standard” school experience. This will include how it engages with parents and others and how it offers access to learning in the home and in other locations.
Leadership, management and collaboration: looking at how a school creates and implements a vision and strategy for ICT and how it supports other schools in their strategic use of ICT.
Support for schools: looking at how an external organisation (both local authorities and others) can support schools in their implementation and development of ICT.
The awards are open to all schools, local authorities and supporting organisations across the whole of the UK and in Service Children’s Education settings overseas.
If you want to share your story or that of a school or organisation that you know, the ICT Excellence Awards 2010 are now open for entries. For more information on the categories and criteria, and to access the online entry forms, go to
