Our friends at our partner IKeepSafe in the US have launched an amazing new resource, IKeepCurrent Newsfeed.
Weekly Headline-inspired Content
Hey, who says learning about digital safety has to be boring? Not us. That's why we've created the iKeepCurrent Newsfeed. It's a constant source of headline-inspired curricula and professional development mixed with fresh, entertaining content to ignite discussion between educators and students. Even though digital safety is a serious subject, that doesn't mean it can't be engaging and fun.
The first edition, MALWARE – IT DOESN’T CARE IF YOU’RE NAUGHTY OR NICE, offers not only classroom activities supported by lesson planning but also associated CPD opportunities and tips for parents. Inspired by
what is in the news, the programme picks relevant and topical subjects and enables schools to inject them into the classroom. This first edition specifically inspired by the TechJournal news article on Nov 7th reporting that online shopping in the US is set to reach $5Bn, this resource focuses on helping children how to evaluate ‘deals’, create a safe shopping environment and protect themselves whilst shopping online. It also offers tips for parents for example; start with a secure internet environment, learn which companies to trust and how to make payments with credit cards safely.
