On 9 February, Safer Internet Day, GMTV will carry an interview with Professor Tanya Byron and Ed Balls talking about the UKCCIS (UK Council for Child Internet Safety)
Click Clever Click Safe Campaign.
Professor Byron was a keynote speaker at the E Safety conference in Bristol organised by South West Grid for Learning, and prepared the Byron Review for the government on E-Safety – a review, the recommendations for which the government accepted completely.
Also on 9 February there are advertisements going in some of the national newspapers and there will be more information appearing on the government’s web site at
www.direct.gov.uk/clickcleverclicksafe .
Additionally many schools will be arranging special activities – including drama productions relating to internet safety.
All in all this is going to be the day when people talk about Internet Safety more than ever before.
