E-Safety – the process of ensuring that young people can use emails and the internet without danger - is one of the biggest issues facing schools today.
The South West Grid for Learning has been at the heart of the battle to ensure that youngsters and their parents are able to use digital technology safely.
To help schools ensure that their digital environment is safe, SWGfL has created the 360 degree safe Self Review Tool – a free tool which assesses the quality of each school’s e-safety provision.
The value of the online tool has now been enhanced through its official endorsement by the University of Plymouth, one of the partner members of the SWGfL E-Safety Group which was responsible for the production of the tool and a wide range of other resources for schools and associated organisations.
Six schools have now been successful in the E-Safety Mark applications, following a visit from the Assessors.
