STEP 1 - The brief

 

This is a fun project to do which involves an investigation of the school playground.

Pupils are asked to talk about their experiences of using the playground and to plan a video detailing their views.

A number of set questions can be posed:

What do you remember about the school playground when you first came to the school?

What is your favourite part of the playground?

How could the playground be improved?

Working in small groups the children are then asked to record short interviews. Everyone is asked to use the camera, record their views and be involved in the editing.

The finished tape is mastered down to VHS and everyone keeps a copy.
