Conclusion 63. Chesil Beach and its environs is unique, and the design of this major scheme to protect the economic viability of Portland and to sustain the community at Chiswell has demonstrated the need to achieve a balance between maintaining the environment and fulfilling the requirements of people. The Paper demonstrates the effectiveness of public authorities jointly furthering a major project and maintaining contact with the community at large and with those actually physically affected by it. Above all, it explains the construction problems faced and the ingenuity with which they have been solved. References 1. NATURE CONSERVANCY COUNCIL, SOUTH WEST REGION.
