South West of England Schools ICT Conference; a one day regional conference for all teaching staff, ICT subject leaders, headteachers and school governors.
The 8th West of England Schools ICT Conference; a one day regional conference for all teaching staff, ICT subject leaders, headteachers and school governors.
Gigajam, a software-supported curriculum for guitar, bass, keyboard and drums can give more students at Key Stages 2 and 3 an opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument, by making lessons more available, accessible and affordable and is a solid introduction to Key Stage 4. The SWGfL and Gigajam.com have come together to offer SWGfL schools lessons 1-5 of the Essential Skills Course at no charge to maintained schools in the South West. The Essential Skills Courses have been written by professional musicians and experienced music educators. Come to this event to learn more from the experts, hear how a local school, Tiverton High School, is using Gigajam, and even have a go yourself. Numbers are limited, so book your place online now.

Gigajam and the South West Grid for Learning
This annual conference provides an opportunity for specialist and non-specialist music teachers from all phases to meet and network. A keynote speaker will talk about current issues.
There will be a range of workshop activities, and opportunities to view a range of musical instruments, books and equipment.
Dave Perrett from Estover School will be leading one of the workshops focusing on how Gigajam, provided through the SWGfL, is being used by students.
This conference is run by Plymouth Local Authority and booking must be done through their website. Please note there is a charge for this event.
