Info 6: Measuring Visual Pollution

Visual Pollution Score barchart - as the stream order increases the signs of pollution become greater.

As the stream order increases the signs of pollution become greater. This is not a physical characteristic as the human influence is paramount. The less densely populated landscape at stream order 1 minimise the potential of pollution. The lower parts of the river attract an increase in urban development and hence pollution. The Horner Wood valley is a sparsely populated rural area.
