Introduction: Blandford and Flood Control

This area contains information about rainfall, river flow, geology and land use within the drainage basin of the River Stour in Dorset. It considers the flood risk of Blandford and the impacts of flooding on the town and looks in detail at the Blandford Flood Alleviation Scheme.

The site is designed to be used with KS4 pupils but can also be used at KS3 or as part of an A1 course.
Pupils can access the site at any point to investigate the causes and consequences of flooding.
Teachers can encourage their pupils to work online or can download some of the data and exercise.
