Hypothesis

There were four hypotheses

1. to what extent does Horner wood exhibit landform features typical of a river on it's journey from source to sea.
2. how does the speed, discharge, load and shape of the river channel change as river order increases?
3. how does the land use in the river basin vary between upland moorland area and lowland estuary areas?
4. is there any evidence of river basin management or human influence?

The reason for the fieldwork was to have a clearer understanding of river processes, which create landscape features. This meant gaining a clearer vision of the textbook theory by seeing and measuring the changes in the valley.
