It would be useful to obtain brochures or advertisements for large hotels today so that pupils are supported in making some comparisons. Features today which would certainly not have figured in the late 19^th century might include telephones and TV in every room, probably including satellite/cable channels. Today it would almost certainly be cheaper in the winter months but in the late 19^th century Torquay was still mainly a winter resort.
