Baths & Assembly Rooms

THE BATHS

At Beacon Hill are completely fitted for Hot or Cold Salt and fresh water Bathing.
The Baths are heated by Steam, the charges are moderate, the rooms are large and lofty, and are not surpassed by any in the kingdom. Special attention is given to Baths prescribed by Physicians, so that the directions are carefully carried out.
Adjoining the Baths is the Ladies' Bathing Cove, a warm and sheltered nook, permitting open air bathing in pure sea water, without the necessity of such a long walk and the publicity of an open beach, as is usually the case.

ASSEMBLY ROOMS

In the same building as the Baths are the Assembly rooms, the Ball Room being 44ft. x 38ft, in which Balls and Entertainments are held regularly, and adjoining is a large room, 100ft. x 50ft, which is used for Tennis Parties, Skating, &c. Around the sea fronts an asphalte esplanade gives invalids an opportunity of enjoying the sea breezes in perfect quiet, and free from all disturbing noise or traffic. The premises are the property of the Town, and the Local Board are at all times glad to receive suggestions which will minister to the convenience or comfort of visitors using the rooms. The Manager will be glad to show the rooms at any time, and to give all information as to terms.

TROUT FISHING

The Town have exclusive fishing rights over a large extent of water, which is well stocked with Trout.
Tickets (fly fishing only) together with all information may be obtained on application to the Town Clerk
