Torquay in SummerThings to Consider Teachers Notes Many will not be surprised to learn that during the recent hot season our highest temperature has not been within twenty degrees of that which was experienced in other parts of England. The reason of this is obvious. The sea breeze is always cooler in summer and warmer in winter than that which has passed over the heated or frozen surface of the inland counties. The old prejudice that because South Devon is mild in winter it must be hot and humid in summer, is, both respects refuted.
