For parents who don’t know their POS from a WYCM, or F2F from a KPC a help is at hand

Parents who are finding that their children know far more about the internet and its strange codes and languages than they do, can rest easier, for help is at hand.
Parents can now obtain one of the most comprehensive guides regarding online safety ever produced. It aims to ensure that their children can work safely on the internet and that parents can be better aware of what their children are getting up to.
The pack “Taming the Web” contains a 34 page “Family Fun Book” with over 50 games and activities for the family, all of which relate to making the internet a safe place for children to be.
There’s also stickers, “situation cards” and a 40 page parent guide which explains everything from internet chat language children use to the best ways of helping children (primarily with children between 8 and 11) understand the dangers that the internet can bring.
SWGfL is the provider of internet services to virtually every single school across the South West, and working tirelessly to help children, families and schools to get the most out of what technology has to offer safely.
"Many parents are worried by the unknown threat that the internet poses", said David Wright of SWGfL, "and the pack is amongst the most engaging set of materials that have ever been produced for parents".
